About

JDP are partnering with a cutting-edge entertainment pioneer reshaping the future of immersive gaming and virtual production.

Forget static rigs and pre-canned animations. This studio is building Australia’s most advanced motion capture facility — blending hyper-real virtual production, Unreal Engine wizardry, and global IPs from household names you’d definitely recognise.

As Motion Capture Supervisor, you’ll be at the nerve centre of this revolution. Every movement, every expression, every nuance you capture will feed into live, unscripted digital performances that blur the line between physical and virtual.

What you’ll be doing
  • Maintaining and optimising state-of-the-art mocap systems, studio gear, and tracked assets.
  • Training and supporting both performers and technicians on best practices, troubleshooting, and calibration.
  • Operating and monitoring mocap systems in a 24/7 broadcast environment — keeping downtime to a minimum.
  • Processing and retargeting real-time data onto virtual characters and assets (including building customised skeletons where needed).
  • Developing and updating training and operational documentation for the team.
  • Collaborating with multiple departments on bespoke tracking solutions and hardware/software testing.
What you’ll bring
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Motion Capture Technician, with at least 3 years on-set.
  • Mastery of real-time motion capture — aligning performers, cameras, and rigid bodies with pinpoint accuracy.
  • Hands-on expertise with optical mocap systems (OptiTrack ideal, but Vicon, Giant, Qualisys, Motion Analysis, or Xsens also valued).
  • Strong motion data cleanup, retargeting, and biped animation workflow skills.
  • Technical, mathematical, and 3D problem-solving ability with forensic attention to detail.
  • A calm, collaborative presence when working with performers and production teams.
Nice to have (but not essential)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, MEL, C++).
  • Proficiency in animation tools like MotionBuilder, Maya, or LiveLink.
Why join?
  • Be part of a trailblazing studio redefining interactive entertainment.
  • Work with global IPs that reach millions of fans worldwide.
  • Operate at the bleeding edge of mocap, Unreal, and virtual production.
  • Play a visible role in shaping the future of live, digital performance.
