About
If your idea of a good engineering day involves sweating over a benchtop prototype, tweaking a PCB layout, fixing dodgy cables, and then watching your idea come to life in the real world – keep reading.
This isn’t a job where you write specs and handball it to someone else. This is for engineers who like seeing things through. From napkin sketch to functional product. From one-off prototypes to actual manufacturable systems.
You’ll be joining a small team that’s building cutting-edge mechatronics products. Low volume. High complexity. Proper engineering.
What you’ll actually be doing:
You don’t need to tick every box. Just be sharp, be hands-on and be ready to build something real.

- Turning clever prototypes into reliable, buildable, testable products
- Working with manufacturing to iron out the weird stuff that always shows up in testing
- Collaborating across electrical, software and mechanical disciplines
- Writing documentation that someone else can actually use
- Running system-level tests, validating performance and sorting bugs before they become problems
- Making sure what you build is ready for manufacture and assembly – not just lab demos
- Keeping things safe, standards-compliant and technically sound
- You’ve been through the full product development cycle more than once and still enjoy it
- You’ve got 5+ years under your belt building real hardware that gets used by real people
- You know your way around Altium, maybe Fusion or SolidWorks too
- You can debug a board, solder a dodgy connection, and still write up a decent test report
- You’ve worked with things like BLDC motor controllers, camera interfaces, and NVIDIA hardware
- You understand protocols like I2C, SPI, UART and CAN, and don’t glaze over when someone mentions them
- You’re good at spotting problems early and solving them without drama
- A seat at the table, working with people who’ve done some serious things in aerospace, defence and R&D
- Flexibility, autonomy and a no-BS culture
- The chance to mentor smart grads and help shape how things are done
- Equity
- The opportunity to build products that matter
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must be living in Melbourne (or open to relocating)
- Must be able to obtain baseline security clearance
You don’t need to tick every box. Just be sharp, be hands-on and be ready to build something real.
