We are seeking a highly skilled and qualified Project Manager with proven experience in the Defence sector. The ideal candidate will have director-level exposure and a strong background in program-level reporting.

NV1 Security Clearance is required.

Working under limited supervision, you will deliver moderately complex tasks as part of an integrated workforce. The role requires excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to foster strong working relationships and serve as a key point of contact for enquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of initiatives to deliver fit-for-purpose outcomes, managing scope, schedules, risks, budgets, and resources.
• Support the Capability Manager in developing and advancing project and product submissions, ensuring compliance with One Defence Capability System requirements (e.g., gates, reviews, committees).
• Coordinate and integrate Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) through proactive stakeholder engagement.
• Develop, maintain, and update key project and product governance documentation (e.g., iPMP).
• Produce required project and product reporting through relevant management systems (e.g., PPRIP, SPMS).
• Identify, assess, and manage risks, issues, and opportunities across the program.
• Provide subject matter expertise (SME) guidance and mentoring to Business, Project, and Product team members.
• Recommend and implement strategies to overcome complex challenges and achieve business objectives.
• Manage workflows and resources effectively, creating clear team and work area plans with defined milestones and outcomes.

• Ensure governance processes support the achievement of the SPO's business objectives and project milestones.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of business, project, and product outcomes.
• Increase team awareness and engagement regarding project and product management responsibilities.
• Execute project/product plans to deliver capability outcomes on time, within budget, and to required quality standards (as detailed in MAA/MSA PdS).
• Deliver complex operational, administrative, and business management activities supporting SPO outcomes.
• Enhance Project Assurance Board operations and improve PMU battle rhythms.
• Strengthen the coaching and mentoring culture within the PMU, building the capability of Project Management staff.
