The Opportunity
  
A well-established Australian-owned business is seeking an experienced Shopify Developer to join its growing technical team. This is a genuine hands-on development role, building custom Shopify solutions for a variety of projects. You'll also take on a technical leadership role, guiding smaller projects and mentoring junior developers along the way.
  
What You'll Do

• Develop custom Shopify themes and features across a range of client projects
• Lead development squads and act as the technical escalation point on small to medium projects
• Contribute to delivery on larger, more complex builds
• Build solutions using Shopify Metafields, Metaobjects, Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensions
• Solve technical problems across different projects and client accounts
• Uphold best practice in code quality, security and scalability
• Contribute to technical documentation and specifications
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve development processes

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years' experience as a Software Engineer with a strong focus on Shopify theme development
• Solid understanding of Shopify-specific features including Metafields, Metaobjects, Checkout Extensibility and Shopify Functions
• Experience integrating search, merchandising, reviews or loyalty platforms with Shopify
• Comfortable conducting code reviews and applying best practice development principles
• Proficient in building custom Shopify solutions with a strong grasp of Shopify's architecture
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to design scalable, secure solutions
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Exposure to back-of-house Shopify integrations
