About
Technical Delivery Lead (Engineering)
$145k–$165k + Super | Brisbane (Hybrid) | Full-time
Node.js, TypeScript, React, Docker
Own delivery. Ship real products. Scale a fast-growing SaaS business with serious momentum.
About the Company
A fast-growing Australian SaaS company building technology used every day across pubs, bars, nightclubs, casinos, surf clubs, football clubs and other compliance-driven venues across Australia, New Zealand and the US.
Founded by a highly technical, product-led CEO, the business has doubled revenue over the past 18 months, is on track to reach $5m revenue by the end of this financial year and has clear line of sight to $10m+ by mid-2027. The company is well capitalised and has pre-signed contracts already in place for upcoming products.
This is a genuine startup-to-scale-up environment - fast-moving, ambitious, and execution-focused.
Why This Role Exists
The Role
This is a true player–coach role, best suited to an engineer-first leader who has naturally drifted into delivery and team leadership.
You’ll work as the right-hand partner to the Head of Engineering Architecture and the COO, owning delivery across all products and ensuring the engineering team operates smoothly as the company grows.
Initially, the role will be approximately 70% delivery / 30% hands-on coding. As delivery processes mature (around the 3‑month mark), the split will move closer to 50/50, with longer-term progression toward a more strategic leadership role as the team scales.
You will take full ownership of engineering delivery across all products, ensuring teams ship on time, to scope, and at a high standard. This role is delivery-first - driving agile execution end-to-end (planning, sprint cadence, Jira ownership, prioritisation, and dependency management) while proactively removing blockers and managing delivery risk.
You’ll act as the connective tissue between architecture and execution, translating technical strategy into practical delivery plans, leading by example in the codebase (Node.js, TypeScript, React), and setting clear expectations around ownership, quality, and accountability as the engineering team scales.

This is a genuine startup-to-scale-up environment - fast-moving, ambitious, and execution-focused.
Why This Role Exists
- The business is investing heavily in growth
- Two new products currently in development, one launching in March with significant early customer interest and pre-signups
- Continued expansion of the engineering, sales, and marketing teams
- Strong growth at the top of the sales funnel and increasing delivery demands across multiple product lines
- As the business scales, it needs a dedicated leader to own engineering delivery, tighten execution, and ensure teams are shipping consistently, predictably, and at a high standard.
- This role exists to bring focus, structure, and accountability to delivery - while still remaining hands-on in the code.

- High-growth environment with genuine product-market fit
