Test Lead/Analyst – 12-Month Engagement


Overview:

An established organisation is seeking an experienced Test Lead/Analyst to support a multi-stream transformation program over a 12-month contract period. This is a full-time role, requiring three days per week on-site in the western Brisbane region.


Scope of Work:

The successful candidate will be engaged across multiple concurrent projects delivering solutions in HR/Payroll, Asset and Works Management, and Safety systems. Working closely with Project Managers, this role will lead the testing strategy and execution activities across all streams, including UAT coordination, configuration testing, and payroll parallel testing.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop tailored test strategies for each project and update them as needed.
  • Design and deliver test plans outlining objectives, schedules, resource allocation, and environment setup.
  • Lead the testing team by setting priorities, assigning tasks, and monitoring progress.
  • Mentor and support team members to ensure adherence to schedule and uplift in testing capability.
  • Create and review detailed test scenarios, test cases, scripts, and data to ensure coverage and consistency.
  • Oversee execution of test activities, tracking progress, managing risks, and reporting status to stakeholders.
  • Log and manage defects using standard tracking tools, liaising with analysts, project teams, and vendors to ensure resolution.
  • Analyse test results, consolidate findings, and produce clear and comprehensive test reports.
  • Continuously assess and improve testing processes for quality and efficiency gains.
  • Develop stakeholder engagement frameworks (e.g., RASCI) to clarify roles and responsibilities during testing.

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and modern testing methodologies.
  • Proven experience delivering structured testing in enterprise or government environments.
  • Proficiency in various types of testing, including functional, integration, UAT, and regression.
  • Familiarity with relevant software testing tools and high-level understanding of programming environments.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to produce clear, concise technical artefacts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in cross-functional project environments.
