About

JDP are partnering with one of Australia’s fastest-growing digital commerce leaders. They’re building scalable, high-converting e-commerce platforms for some of the country’s most exciting brands and now they’re on the lookout for a Software Engineering Manager to guide their growing dev team.
If you’re passionate about mentoring engineers, shaping technical direction, and building teams that consistently deliver high-quality software, this role is for you.

This is your chance to step into a role with real influence, in a business that’s scaling fast.

You’ll enjoy:
  • Hybrid flexibility
  • Career growth — opportunities to shape technical strategy and progress into senior leadership
  • Learning support — training budgets, conferences, and educational allowances
  • Culture perks — hackathons, team lunches, social events, and more
  • High-impact projects — leading builds for major e-commerce brands with tangible results
What You’ll Be Doing As Software Engineering Manager, you’ll focus on people leadership, technical excellence, and delivery outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading, mentoring, and coaching engineers through regular 1:1s, career development, and actionable feedback
  • Driving a collaborative, inclusive, and autonomous engineering culture
  • Managing resource and capacity planning to align teams with delivery goals
  • Partnering with delivery stakeholders to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Guiding technical direction and enforcing best practices in design, scalability, and security
  • Overseeing performance reviews and supporting professional growth across the team
  • Acting as custodian of your team’s work, ensuring accountability, transparency, and quality
What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer (or similar technical role)
  • 3+ years in a leadership role mentoring and managing engineers
  • Proven success building and scaling high-performing engineering teams
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, architecture, and scalable systems
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to foster strong culture and collaboration
  • Background in e-commerce or a digital agency environment is a bonus
